Good to know
How UTC works
UTC is the world's reference time. It never changes for daylight saving: it is the same all year, and every other time zone is written as an offset from it, such as UTC-5 or UTC+2. Servers, logs, release notes and webinar pages often use it because it means the same thing everywhere.
To turn UTC into your local time, add or subtract your offset. The catch is that your offset may change during the year. A city on UTC-5 in winter is on UTC-4 in summer if it observes daylight saving, so the same UTC time lands on a different clock time depending on the date. The converter above reads your browser's own time zone data for the date you choose, so you do not need to track this.
Watch the day, not only the hour. A late-evening UTC time can be the next morning in Asia and Australia, and an early-morning UTC time can be the previous evening in the Americas. The result shows the full weekday and date for that reason.

FAQ
Questions people ask
Is UTC the same as GMT?
For everyday scheduling they show the same clock time. GMT is the time in the UK in winter; UTC is the fixed reference that never shifts, while UK time moves to BST in summer.
Does UTC have daylight saving?
No. UTC stays the same all year. Your local zone may change; the converter handles that for the date you pick.
