Good to know
Converting UTC to PST
Pacific time is behind UTC by 8 hours in winter (PST) and 7 hours in summer (PDT). UTC release times, cron schedules and event start times therefore land in the west coast afternoon and evening more often than people expect.
UTC has no daylight saving and never moves. Most people who search "PST" mean the local clock time on the US west coast. That clock is on PST (UTC-8) in winter and PDT (UTC-7) in summer; in 2026 PDT runs from March 8 until clocks go back on November 1. The converter above follows the real clock for the date you pick, so you do not have to remember which half of the year it is. The live line and the table use the same rules.
Midnight UTC is a good test. At 00:00 UTC it is 5:00 PM the previous day on the west coast during PDT, and 4:00 PM the previous day during PST. A "deploy at midnight UTC" is an afternoon event for a team in San Francisco.
Since UTC never changes, only the Pacific side shifts. Re-check any recurring UTC schedule in the week the clocks change.
